4th Grade Teacher
I graduated from Trinidad High School in 1999. It is a small ruaral school in East Texas between Athens and Corsicana. I graduated from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a minor in pre-law. I soon discovered that my calling was not in the legal field but instead in education. I received my teaching certification through Region VII Education Service Center. I am certified in History 8-12 and EC-6 and ESL EC-6.
This will be my 4th year at Brock ISD and my 7th year teaching in the classroom. I currently teach 4th Grade Writing, Math and Science.
I began my teaching carreer in 2004 in East Texas teaching World Geography and coaching volleyball, basketball and softball as well as the UIL Debate team. After moving to Weatherford in 2006, I was very fortunate to work for the Parker County Extension Office by providing curriculum enrichment programs to all the schools in Parker County. While I enjoyed visiting all the schools, I truly missed the interaction and relationships formed by working with students one on one and decided to return to the classroom. Before coming to Brock, I worked at Garner ISD teaching 1st and 2nd grade Reading, 2nd grade Science and Social Studies and 1st-4th grade Technology.
My husband, Eric, and I have lived in Brock since 2007. We have 2 awesome children, Cale and Carsyn who keep us very busy! Carsyn is 5 and will be making her debut as a Brock Eagle in Kindergarten and Cale will be in 2nd grade. I enjoy spending time with my family. We like to hunt when we get a chance and do just about anything outdoors. We have a lot of family in East Texas and enjoy going back home to visit. We have been part of the community for several years and we love Brock. I am very excited to be teaching at this wonderful school!
